Background: The brutal terrorist
attacks on October 7, 2023, in Israel sparked a new war in Gaza. While most wars in the history of modern
Israel have been comparatively short this one is still going on. The amount of
casualties and damage is unprecedented and there seems no clear path to end the
war. The Church, especially the German Church, has to debate the positions in
this sad situation.
